About the Team:
Are you passionate about safeguarding communities from financial crime? In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for designing, overseeing, delivering, and championing activities that effectively manage financial crime risks. This team provides a comprehensive framework that includes advice, oversight, and detection driven by intelligence and data, focusing on key areas such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), Sanctions, Fraud, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
About the Role:
As an Investigator, you will play a pivotal role in protecting customers and communities from financial crime. This role is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring flexibility to shift focus as needed throughout the day to manage various operational processes.
Your primary responsibilities will include triaging, investigating, remediating, and managing the outcomes of financial crimes. Your ability to cross-skill, continuously improve, and work effectively within a team is crucial to success.
This role involves interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, including Frontline staff, Risk and Compliance, Fraud departments, Transformation Business Analysts, Management, and other Investigators. Success in this role depends on your proactive engagement, collaborative spirit, and commitment to exceeding expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Take Ownership:
Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by actioning alerts across multiple streams within the team to ensure adherence to business guidelines.
Swiftly respond to investigations, ensuring accurate and timely decisions.
Prepare and review risk assessments with business recommendations
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous self-improvement and support the development of your team.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, utilising a growth mindset to identify and implement improvement opportunities for operational efficiencies.

High-Risk Customer Management:
Conduct ongoing due diligence for high-risk customers, beneficial owners, and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) to identify and address unusual and suspicious activity.
Escalations:
Complete escalation requirements with relevant stakeholders, including Business Units and AUSTRAC, following operational procedures.
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Relevant Experience:
Understanding of Financial Crime risks.
Knowledge of the Finance sector and experience with risk management frameworks.
Technological proficiency, particularly with financial systems and processes.
Experience in diverse work environments, dealing with a wide spectrum of people.
Qualifications and Certifications:
The following qualifications are desired but not mandatory:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting, Criminology, or similar.
CAMS Certification (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists).
AFMA Diploma of Applied Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Management.\
